The Dice Analogy

Dice have six sides with six corresponding sets of dots. Throw a die, and any of these six numbers will appear. If, however, a die is weighted with a small amount of lead, it will most likely wind up on the same number, no matter how you throw it.
Our lives too, are capable of manifesting any one of the Ten Worlds, from Hell to Buddhahood, at any given moment. Chanting daimoku to the Gohonzon with faith in it enables us to weight our lives toward the state of Buddhahood, causing the "good side" of our inherent qualities and characteristics to come to the surface more and more frequently and the "bad side" to reveal itself less and less. Praying to the Gohonzon enables us to powerfully purify our life on a fundamental level.
